**Notice to Crown Point Owners Due to Fires**
Dear Crown Point Owners,
We hope this notice finds you and yours doing well. Unfortunately, for our staff at Crown Point we can only report their lives are still upended as disaster continues in the Ruidoso area. There are still Crown Point employees who are not aware if they have a home or not as they have not been able to access certain areas.
As an update to the recent wildfires in Ruidoso, and now the flash flooding going on this past weekend, we are informing you that closure of our resort has been extended through July 26, 2024. It is reasonable to anticipate extended closures as we move through this disaster which is changing daily.
On a lighter note, we are pleased to report the fires did not cause any damage to the Crown Point Resort, however the Bears did. One employee has been able to survey the resort property. It was discovered that a sliding glass door on the patio by the swimming pool had been broken. There is solid evidence that bears have been enjoying laps in the pool and relaxing in the hot tub. The pool will need to be drained completely to be cleaned. Unfortunately, the city is not allowing anyone to fill pools currently.
GM, Terri Blue was to arrive last evening, but found herself overnighting in Roswell as all roads into Ruidoso are closed due to flash flooding. Anyone who has seen these videos circulating on social media will get the picture. There is an interesting one of a diesel tanker truck caught in the flood waters and floating down Highway 70. Cleanup of the area will take some time.
We are anticipating a few weeks to get the property back in order once services are completely restored and we gain access to vendors, such as carpet cleaners to go through the condominiums. Once we can come together as employees, we anticipate a mountain of work.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. We can all be grateful the property is still standing and will be enjoyed again one day by all of us.
For the Crown Point Owners Board,
